Discussion on charging current of MPPT solar controller

Hello everyone, this is Chen Fashu, an I-Panda engineer. Here is a summary of some of the questions that answer our customers' charging current requirements for the controller at work. I hope to explain these practical problems through me to help.
A: The easiest way to check if it is a true MPPT solar controller is to check if the output current is greater than the large input current. At the same time, you can check if the PV voltage can track the voltage at the maximum power point. You can also check the conversion efficiency by checking.
Q2: Sometimes the controller's charging current is smaller than the PWM or other suppliers. The controller is small. Why?
A: First, the function of the MPPT solar energy charging controller makes full use of solar power to generate electricity when the battery is empty and the battery is charged with high efficiency. Second, charge the battery to charge at a low current when the battery is almost fully or fully charged. So it protects the battery and extends the life of the battery. In this case, it does not charge the battery, even if the solar radiation is very powerful.
Ordinary PWM controllers are not that smart as one of the MPPTs. For the PWM controller, it will still charge the battery large even if the battery is fully charged. Even some MPPT controllers from other vendors will be the same. If you want to compare different models between different vendors, please do this when the battery is empty. Q3: I have a 48V battery system and a 2000W solar panel, but the maximum charging current is only 20A and the maximum charging power is about 1000W. What is wrong?
A: Please confirm the following questions:
1. Please check if the solar power panel is sufficient. In addition, the power of the solar panel will be reduced after use.
