In a recent blog post, company president Brad Smith outlined the steps that the company will adopt, with the “skills leader” approach “responding to sustainable development”, some of which will involve labor. Intelligence and machine learning. Microsoft promised to cut operating carbon emissions by 75% over the next 11 years and doubled this promise.
“The magnitude and speed of changes in the world’s environment are increasingly clearly marked, and we need to do more,” Smith wrote. "We are adopting new measures to do this."
In the data center, Microsoft has indicated that it has completed this goal early in the year from the announcement in 2016 to the end of the previous year, using 50% renewable energy in all equipment, and is expected to reach 60% by the end of this year.
It will seek to exceed 70% by 2023, in part because of a new “data-driven” cloud initiative that will use IoT devices, blockchain skills and artificial intelligence to monitor functionality and “simplify” data. Reuse, resale, and reclaim of central hardware.
